“It’s Ok If You Think You’re Better Than Me”
There’s a common temptation that many professionals and individuals have. That temptation is comparison. Wanting, needing, and actively comparing ourselves to others is a recipe for disaster!
Sometimes it may feel fulfilling if we lead ourselves to believing that we come out ahead when the yardstick is pulled out. But the feeling quickly fades when a bigger shadow comes along. Either way, comparison is simply a criminal who sentences us to anxiety, regret, and unhappiness.
Instead, in our daily routines, we should consider incorporating a wise proverb that says “you should want for your brother/sister what you want for yourself”.
Therefore, if you want to be a dynamic speaker, the top professional in your field, or the best person you can be you, you should want that for everyone else.
This voids the need for comparison.
Practically speaking, the view that you can learn something from everyone is an admirable perspective to have.
There are so many aspects to making a great presentation. In some respects, it reminds me of a professional golf swing;
